I privileged to get to enjoy a new zine from Jon every couple of months, and it’s interesting to watch his approach, style, sense of composition, understanding of the format, its possibilities and limitations, change and develop over time.
I haven’t done a strict comparison, but I think there are more photographs of people in this set, more recognizable forms and scenes. I paused at one point, thinking I recognized a street corner (I didn’t), but there are some repetitions in this that I don’t remember seeing in the first four volumes. (If you’re curious, I have unboxings of volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4 available for your viewing pleasure.)
