The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said
There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are) Health and free time for doing good.
Back in 2015/16, I had this practice of photographing all the garbage I picked up on the way to the masjid… I’ve since stopped that (both the photographing of, and the picking up of), and may Allah forgive me, but if any hadith could better encapsulate the crushed Squirt can I found in the weeds that day, I don’t know it…
As narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said
Faith has seventy-some odd doors, the lowest of which is removing something harmful from the road, and its highest is the statement ‘La Ilaha Illallah.’
And as I picked up that can, I said “la ilaha il Allah.” May Allah accept from me, and keep me steadfast, Ameen.
