It was a couple of years ago now, Hana, Samie and I tried out El Picante, the ill-fated halal Mexican restaurant down the street. It’s a shame it didn’t survive, because it was straight up Tex-Mex, of the type I grew up with. No frills, nothing fancy, beans, meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa, maybe some jalapeño, and fried flour tortillas… surprisingly easy to screw up, but El Picante nailed it.
It’s a bit unfair to post in-your-face flash pictures of Hana and Samie and not include myself, but I totally missed on the framing… Oh well.
