I took a new route to Mom’s in my most recent trip: up 75 to 69 like normal, but instead of turning off on 40, I continued maybe 15 miles north, and picked up Highway 62 outside of Muskogee, OK. I could’ve followed 62 nearly all the way to Mom’s, as it runs through Eureka Springs too. I don’t think anyone in my family knew that 62 went all the way to Muskogee, and it’s their loss: it’s a beautiful, twisty, driver’s kind of road from Briggs, OK to Fayetteville, AR, and I’ll probably take that way again, especially if I leave after work and want to catch Maghrib at the Islamic Center of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville.
