Some group of men, probably much like me, erected a concrete pole or pillar of some sort near where the Mike Lewis Park is down in Grand Prairie. Here, n years later, it’s forgotten, overgrown, behind some boulders placed there to keep snoopy people like me from crawling around on it.
Sorta makes me wonder about the legacy I’m leaving behind… As reported by Abu Huraira, the prophet, peace be upon him, said
إذا مات الأنسان انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: A continuous charity, knowledge by which people derive benefit, pious son who prays for him.
So let me focus less on monuments and more on moments. (Does that make sense?)
