Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed us with another Ramadan. May He accept our fasts, our charity, and our worship, and bless us with many more Ramadans to come, Ameen.
For Ramadan this year, I shot (at least) one Polaroid per day in an attempt to shoot through some of my aging (but refrigerated) Polaroid Originals stock, some of which was close to a year old. I had an idea to push one polaroid per day for the next 30 days as a sort of homage, but instead, here’s all 45 in a clump. Enjoy!
The oldest packs (1 Black & White and 2 Color of both iType and 600, both Polaroid Originals, dated 7/2017) had a yellow-red cast to at least the first 4 frames, and most were yellow throughout. I dialed this back in the b/w ones, but mostly left it in the color. I hoped this was due to age or the fact that I stored them horizontally for about 5 months, but the yellow cast remains in the film I bought in November and stored vertically for 6 months. So I suspect the refrigeration or general age has something to do with it.
tl;dr: I need to shoot more Polaroid more often, and stop leaving this stuff to age in the fridge. It’s not wine and doesn’t like to be aged.
You may notice a couple of series in there, some repetition. I live a fairly dull, predictable life, so my choice of subjects is somewhat limited. Still, I’m somewhat happy with a few of them, and see some things I may want to pursue, and Alhamdulillah.
