My darling, adorable wife joined me in Atlanta on Thursday, and we enjoyed all of Friday and most of Saturday driving around in a rental car and checking out the different things Atlanta has to offer.
This is part 1.
As with most holidays, Hana and I spent the bulk of our time with more or less manicured natural stuff. We spent Friday first at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, then lunch at the Global Mall, and then took a drive through the country to the Arabia Mountain Natural Heritage Area.
I shot three different films on two different cameras… Fuji Pro 400 H in the Nikon FE (with 50mm E) and the Ricoh 500 ME; Fuji Superia X-TRA 400 in the Ricoh, and Ferrania P30 in the FE and 500 ME. Color stocks were developed and scanned by the Old School Photo Lab; the Ferrania was developed in Ilfotec HC 1:63 for 12 minutes.
The P30 came out way too contrasty, again… I’m not sure what to do to get this film to open up the shadows a bit better. Stand? I’ve developed it in Rodinal (1:50 for 8 minutes; 1:50 for 9 minutes), and HC 1:63 for 12 minutes. And in all cases, the whites just barely get there, and the blacks block up super fast.
Still, I like this one.
