In Surah Al Jathiyah, Allah azza wa jall says Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), …

Call Your Mother!
A reminder to myself, first… Aisha, RadhiAllahu ‘anha said زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ “ الرَّحِمُ شِجْنَةٌ، فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعْتُهُ ” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The word ‘Ar-Rahm’ (womb) derives its name from ‘Ar- Rahman’ (i.e. Allah). Diversity, again
Last Friday, I mentioned being thankful for Diversity. Today, nearing the end of the last day of Eid al Adha, I remain intensely grateful for diversity; at the same time, I sometimes miss some homogeneity.
Eid Mubarak!

Diversity
Today, I’m thankful for Diversity: biodiversity, cultural diversity, diversity of genotypes and phenotypes, diversity of landscapes, foodstuffs, all of the variety in this world. Alhamdulillah! Allah tells us some things about diversity in the Quran, and it’s worth reflecting on and marveling at His magnificence and benevolence in creating all this diversity.
